- The social hour starts at 5:45 pm
- Dinner starts at 6:30 pm
- Announcements at 7:15 pm
- Technical Group Breakout Sessions at 7:30 pm.

ASCE Younger Members are eligible for a number of National ASCE Awards:
Ethics Award
–
Do you know a licensed
professional engineer who has displayed superior engineering ethics and
leadership? ASCE is currently accepting nominations for the 2009 Professional
Practice Ethics and Leadership Award. The award recognizes licensed professional
engineers whose actions have demonstrated civil engineering leadership in
professional practice and ethics. Individuals can be nominated for either a
specific accomplishment or for lifetime achievement. Nominees are not required
to be members of ASCE, but they must be licensed professional engineers.
Nominations are due June 1. For more information on the Ethics and Leadership

Collingwood Prize
– This prize is awarded to the author or authors of a paper describing
an engineering work with which the author has been directly connected;
or recording investigations contribution to engineering knowledge to
which the author has contributed some essential part; and containing a
rational digest of results.
Daniel Mead Prize for Younger Members –
A paper competition. This year’s topic is “Is it ethical to transfer
risk of a construction project solely to the Contractor indemnifying
the design engineer and owner?”
Edmund Friedman Young Engineer Award – Young Engineer Award for Professional Achievement.
Young Government Civil Engineer Award
– Awarded to a distinguished young civil engineer employed in the
public sector for demonstrated leadership potential in and for
significant contributions to public service engineering.

more information. To be eligible for nomination, the individual must be
a member of ASCE and must be 35 years of age or younger.
