We have an opening for a summer intern position with the potential for it to carry on into a full time position. So we would be most interested in recent graduates, but would consider candidates that have just completed the third year of their bachelor’s degree in Architectural or Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural. The position would be in our Carbondale office. Position Requirements: - Knowledge of wood, steel, concrete, masonry design and current design codes - Working towards a B.S./M.S. in Structural, Civil and/or Architectural Engineering - Working towards or has obtained an EIT Certification - Proficiency w/ AutoCAD and/or Revit - Experience with design software such as RISA 3D, Enercalc, Forte, etc.
Responsibilities: - Assist in the structural engineering design and drafting for a variety of projects - Coordinate projects with design team, including architects, contractors and building departments - Construction administration support, including site visits, revisions and letters

Assist in the Senior Project I and II, the Experimental Methods in Structural Engineering, and the Introduction to Civil Engineering Technology courses. Support CET faculty in the experimental aspects of their research activities. Provide assistance in Mechanical Engineering Technology (MET) laboratory activities (20%). Maintaining the equipment and instruments used by the students in the lab classes; preparing materials; teaching lab training sessions; assisting with demonstrations; assembling apparatus for demonstrations; purchasing materials, supplies, and assisting program coordinator/Department Chair in laboratory equipment procurement.
